Configuring an auto-responder in Outlook

Follow this procedure to configure an auto-responder in Outlook.

Before you begin:

Access to Outlook.

Procedure:

  1. Open the mailbox that you want to set up the rule for, click on Tools -> Rules and Alerts
  2. Select New Rule, tick 'check messages when they arrive' and click on next, then click on next again to apply it to every message that arrives to that address.
  3. Put a tick next to 'have server reply using specific message'.
  4. Click on the underlined 'specific message' in the second box and add your message in here.
  5. Click on Next twice, enter a name for your rule and click on Finish.
