Dealing with Outlook error 0x8004010F when sending and receiving

Follow this procedure when Outlook error 0x8004010F is displayed when sending and receiving.

Before you begin:

  • While doing a Send/Receive, this error is received: Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x8004010F) : 'The operation failed. An object could not be found'. 
  • The 0x8004010F errors occur when there is a failure downloading the Offline Address Book. 

Procedure:

  1. If your account is less then 24 hours old, the Exchange server will not have generated the Offline Address Book yet.
    The Offline Address Book is generated every morning by 6am.
  2. Attempt to download the Offline Address Book again after the Exchange server has generated it: Tools -> Send / Receive -> Download Address Book.
  3. If this still persists, please create a support ticket requesting to get the offline address book rebuilt.
