Backing up your SharePoint site locally
Follow this procedure to back up your SharePoint site locally.
Before you begin:
Ensure a copy of Microsoft SharePoint Designer isĀ installed. Create a support ticket to request your copy if you haven't got it.
Procedure:
- Open Microsoft SharePoint designer and select File | Open Site from the main menu.
- Enter your Sharepoint site address in the site name box - ie: http://sp.yourdomain.com
- Enter your username and password when prompted (this is your sharepoint site username).
- When the site opens, select Tools -> Server -> Backup Web Site.
- If you have sub sites, tick the "Include sub sites in archive".
- Select a backup file name and click Save.
