Requirements for running Windows 2008 Terminal Server Remoteapp

In order to run Windows 2008 Terminal Server applications using Remoteapp your computer must meet the following requirements:

Windows XP

·         Ideally all Windows XP computers should have Service Pack 3 installed. This is available from the Microsoft download site using the following URL: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=5b33b5a8-5e76-401f-be08-1e1555d4f3d4&DisplayLang=en

Instructions on how to install the service pack are detailed on the above URL.

·         If you are unable to install Service Pack 3 then you need to download and install the latest version of the remote desktop client.  This is available here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=6e1ec93d-bdbd-4983-92f7-479e088570ad&DisplayLang=en

·         To take advantage of the new printing functionality you need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 SP1 or later.  This is a requirement of all Windows XP computers. The current version is available as a download here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=AB99342F-5D1A-413D-8319-81DA479AB0D7&displaylang=en

 

Windows Vista

·         Ideally all Windows Vista computers should have Service Pack 1 installed. To find out what service pack you have installed on your Windows Vista Computer please refer to the following KB article: http://www.support.young-jedi.co.uk/KB/a37/how-to-find-out-which-service-pack-you-have-installed.aspx

 

If you computer already has Service Pack 1 installed then you don’t need to do anything else.
